What is something ironic that was sad for you?

I was learning about irony in class today and i thought about a blog i once saw. It was a. suicide blog basically. It was a young girl, and she was writing about her thought of death and dreams. It was the saddest thing i had ever seen. And what made it worse was that when i looked at the date.....it hadn't been updated in like two years.

I guess i was just a little too late.

I think this is the most random of all the random threads you just posted... but I actually have an answer.

I always thought it was sadly ironic that the guy who wrote RENT... the musical... died the night before it officially opened. He never saw it performed publicly

The play had a lot of themes... one being the idea of leaving a legacy behind before you die. Sad that he pretty much suffered the same fate right before he was able to see his own legacy.

wow i did not know that,,i even went to go see it back in high school down in manhatten..and after the show nobody mention anything about him when the actors were taking questions after the show..

I don't understand irony if I'm honest, I know where it stands but the two examples here are really different in my opinion,

but Dermot Morgan dying 24 hours after completing the last ever episode of Father Ted is sad, if not ironic.
